I think it would be hardly wise to name any
particulars Mortality Table in the Ordinance. It would be better
to leave the Mortality Table, as well as the rate of interest
to be fixed by the Registrar in consultation with the Actuaries.
The Mortality Table to be employed in valuing

for solvency must represent as nearly as possible the actual
mortality to be experienced, and would depend to a large extent
on the residence of the policy holders. The mortality to be
expected in India is considerably different, for example,
the mortality to be expected in North China, and it would be
necessary to go into these details in settling the table. Pro-
